Why Mobys in Davie County?

Well to tell you the truth I can think of no place I would rather open a Mobys than here in Davie County. Although I (Patrick) am not a native of DC, I can think of no place I would rather call home. The people in this county are not just neighbors they are family. We don't always see eye to eye but show me a family that does.

Did you know that Davie Co. has 103 churches in it? Yes 103! I believe strongly that this is one of the main reasons this County is so much like a family, we seem to all have a common ground to stand on and that ground is Jesus Christ. We may be from different denominations but the core fact is that we all believe that Christ died for our sins, His blood washes us clean and that only through a relationship with Him can we find everlasting life.

That is why Davie County is the perfect home for Mobys. We not only believe in this, it is why we exist. We want to give the people of Davie County this place beyond the church walls where we can meet, fellowship, study, worship and give God the Glory He deserves.

Live Praise and Worship

At Mobys we know why we were created, we were created to Praise, Worship and Glorify God. So in that spirit we hold live praise and worship every Friday and Saturday nights. We welcome local praise and worship teams, or single christian artists from the surrounding area to come to Mobys and use the gifts God has given you to help those around you into a spirit of worship. If you or someone you know might be interested in serving in this ministry please contact Patrick at mobyshillsdale@yahoo.com he would love to talk with you about this in more detail.

We welcome all types of praise and worship teams and artists which include but are not limited to: Contemporary, Gospel, Blue Grass, Hymns, Rap and Christian Rock. We want to serve all age groups and tastes so check out this blog or call us and ask who is playing this week and we will be happy to tell you.

Mobys Coffee of East Davie is a Christian Coffee shop and more. When you step into our doors not only will you find the finest coffee's, blended drinks, pastries, deli sandwiches and soups, you will also find a staff (we call stewards) that are truly interested in who you are and how they might serve you. We want your experience at Mobys to be warm and inviting. We offer comfortable seating, tv's, a fire place, shelves of christian books, a small group room even live praise and worship every Friday and Saturday night. We welcome small groups, bible studys, office meetings, youth groups, and study groups. If your group needs a place to meet we are here for that purpose, a local meeting place where people from all walks of life can come and enjoy each others company and fellowship together, oh and get a good cup of coffee too.. Please do not hesitate to ask us questions, we love to tell our story and would love to hear yours. Feel free to call apon any of the owners (Allyson, Patrick, Tina, Barry, Jill and Johnnie) we would love the opportunity to spend some time with you and fellowship.

Why the name Mobys?

Well the name for Mobys comes from the book Moby Dick, the name of the first mate on the Pequod (Ahab's ship) was Starbuck who was an avid coffee drinker. Plus another well known coffee house uses the Pequod's first mate as their company's name, guess who? And no this is not a whale of a tale it's true!!

The Beginnings

Well the journey so far has been challenging to say the least, but well worth the wait. Look out Davie County here comes Mobys Coffee. God is blessing us beyond our wildest dreams.
